Primary Care Leadership Training
Program
Working from its belief
that leadership training should be a conscious,
active process, The AMSA Foundation developed the
Primary Care Leadership Training Program in
order to train students to be future leaders in primary
care. |
 |
Hosted each
year by a different medical or dental school, the
Primary Care Leadership Training
Program is a weeklong
innovative institute educating students about important
issues in primary care, helping future primary care
providers develop leadership skills, and engaging students
in curricular reform and health policy issues. In
addition to specific theme-related sessions, there
are sessions on:
- Health care disparities
- Advocacy/health policy
- Leadership skills
- Interdisciplinary work
- Communication skills
- Mentoring
- Professional ethics
- Careers in health
Now in its 14th year, the Primary
Care Leadership Training Program has educated over 250 future leaders
in health care. Information about the upcoming
Primary Care Leadership Training can be found here. |
